Causes of Oral Cancer
- Tobacco Use: Smoking, chewing tobacco, and using smokeless tobacco products are the leading risk factors for oral cancer.
- Heavy Alcohol Consumption: Regular drinking, particularly when combined with tobacco use, greatly increases the risk.
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV): Certain strains of HPV, especially HPV-16, are linked to oral cancers.
- Age: The risk increases with age, especially after the age of 40.

Symptoms of Oral Cancer

- Red or White Patches: Unusual red or white patches (leukoplakia or erythroplakia) in the mouth or on the tongue.
